国際ビジネス、渉外法務に役立つ実務表現 article 【意味】 記事，品物，物品，(法律・契約書などの)条文，条項 【参考】 ▷ a clause or section in a written document such as a treaty, contract or statute; a legal rule that can be set out under a statute, a code, or a paragraph in a legal document. ▷わが国では、「法令等の構成」として、以下のように表記している： 「編」→Part 「章」→Chapter 「節」→Section 「条」→Article(Art.) 「項」→paragraph(para.) 「号」→item 【用例】 ▷ an article of clothing →衣類1点 ▷ be in breach of Article 12 of the treaty →条約の12条に違反している ▷ Article 1[The first article] of the constitution of this country guarantees freedom of religion. →この国の憲法第１条は信教の自由を保障する。 ▷ Any State may declare at the time of the deposit of its instrument of ratification, acceptance, approval or accession that it will not be bound by subparagraph (1)(b) of article 1 of this Convention. →いずれの国も、批准書、受諾書、承認書又は加入書の寄託の時に、第1条(1)(b)の規定に拘束されないことを宣言することができる(ウィーン売買条約95条)。
