国際ビジネス、渉外法務に役立つ実務表現 garnish 【意味】 ～(債権・給与など)を差し押さえる, ～(人)に債権差押えを通知する (n) garnishment →(債権の)差押え(手続き) + garnishee →(債権差押え通知を受けた)第三債務者　※「～を差し押さえる」(= garnish)という意味で動詞としても使われる。 + garnisher →差押債権者 【参考】 ▷ to take an amount from someone's wages or bank account in order to pay back money he or she owes; to serve someone with papers announcing the garnishment of that person's property in order to satisfy a debt. ▷ In a garnishment proceeding, if the court rules for the plaintiff-creditor, the defendant-debtor’s asset under a third-party’s control will be garnished.
