prima facie

【意味】
一応の,一見して明らかな,推定力のある(反証によって覆るまでは一応真実と推定される)

【参考】
ラテン語由来。
▷ Latin for "at first look," or "on its face," referring to a lawsuit or criminal prosecution in which the evidence before trial is sufficient to prove the case unless there is substantial contradictory evidence presented at trial; used in court to indicate that there is sufficient or adequate evidence to support a claim.

▷ prima facie evidence of fraud →詐欺の一応の証拠
▷ a prima facie case of police brutality →警察による野蛮行為を明らかにしうる事案
▷ provide prima facie evidence of ~ →~の一応の証拠を提出する
constitute prima facie evidence of the validity of the copyright →著作権の有効性の(著作権が有効であることの)一応の証拠となる
