The Daitouzan Museum of Art is a museum opened to the public in the former main house,front gate,and garden of the 31st head of the Murayama family,which has a history of more than 700 years in Matsunoyama. Highlights include the modern Japanese-style architecture of the former main house and front gate,which are designated Tokamachi City Cultural Properties,furnishings that convey the history and traditions of the Murayama family,such as a large chimney that retains the remnants of a sake brewery,and numerous antiques and other exhibits. |
